Q. How many people can connect at one time using one Lodinet account?
A. Only one person per dial up account can be online at a time. It is possible to access the Internet from two or more separate computers with one Lodinet account, just not at the same time. Q. What are the settings that I will need to know to use Lodinet DNS / Name Servers?
A. You should leave this as "server assigned." If this is unfeasible for you or you’re using a UNIX machine and need to specify the DNS information then you can, set your primary server according to this information:
Primary DNS: 208.161.116.1
Secondary DNS: 208.161.116.2

Frequently Asked Questions - DSL
Do all customers qualify for DSL service?
In addition to having DSL available in their central office, customers must be less than 14,000 feet from their central office or live in a neighborhood where DSL Gateway has been installed. Please note that the measurement from the central office to the customer premise is the length of the telephone line facility, not street miles or air miles. Additionally, they must have a telephone line qualified to carry the DSL signal.

Not all customers within 3 miles of a DSL-equipped central office (or who reside in a neighborhood where DSL Gateway has been installed) will qualify for DSL service, due to existing conditions of the telephone line. Examples of limiting conditions are bridge taps and load coils, which are used as part of the telephone company infrastructure to pr
ovide better voice service. These devices interfere with the DSL signal. When a customer's line has these conditions, the line is not qualified to carry the DSL signal. Historically, approximately 60 - 65% of customers out of each central office will qualify for the service.

When does my billing start?
DSL billing will begin when we have activated your DSL service on our network.

What is included with the personal DSL offer?
DSL Internet service at a speed of up to 1.5 Mbps downstream/128 Kbps upstream
*. Unlimited "instantly available" Internet access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. One static IP address, three email boxes, personal home page account up to 10MB, technical support 7:00am - 10:00pm, 7 days a week, professional in home installation and a one-year term commitment.

*Actual speeds may vary due to Internet congestion, server or router speeds, protocol overheads, and other factors that cannot be controlled by SBC Companies. Access speed is between customer's location and the DSL-equipped Central Office or Gateway
