Soup, homemade soup, served in a plain earthenware bowl. Just onions and carrots, sliced thin. Chunks of celery, a wee bit of minced garlic. Perhaps some potatoes, some noodles. Of course some tomato - one can, diced. Then toss in any left-over vegetables and meat, add water and spices, and boil. You have it. Soup.
There is nothing terribly unusual about it. Nothing special. It is a common, ordinary food. You can buy cans of it or dry packages, and those are okay as well, though I prefer homemade. It is inexpensive, wholesome, warm, and filling. It makes you feel comfort on a cold day.
I am like that. I'm soup.
