What do you say to a friend who's been fired?
Should you get mad and quit too?
What do you say when his job has expired,
And his absence is making you blue?
You need your own job. You're in debt. So is
he.
Thought of losing it just makes you shiver.
But there he is jobless, staring you down.
You feel like gray-green chicken liver.
It started out well. You both slaved for the boss

But somehow that idiot wrecked it.
Co-worker no more, he's gone, you're alone,
Afraid and regretting his exit.
So what do you do? Have you thought of a plan?
What do you do with emotions a'jumble?
Do you go on alone? Turn your back on the man?
