I was a wife and mother, but
I'm kind of lost right now

My daughter grew independent
She learned to love and give.
But she wed a man, and then went,
To Auckland, there to live.

So now I'm alone, and searching,
For what is really me.
I'll soon retire from teaching,
Then what will I be?
