Some things become a part of you.
For they touch the caring heart of you.
Great Grandma's quilt. Your child's first shirts.
Your wedding album, though now it hurts.
Grandma's rocker. Grandpa's old hat.
Your ball, and mitt, and baseball bat.
But when all is said and done.
Things don't really matter, no, not one.
What matters is the folks you've known,
And how they've shaped the way you've grown.
