A TIME FOR HEARTS

All chores are finished for the day.
Pull up a chair, a game of hearts to play.

Love is the only ticket, lots of skill.
A smile and a laugh is the fill.

Trading three cards to an opponent on the screen.
Oh My! Shan got passed the beautiful Spade Queen.

Bren, she is over there gloating,
A poet is in her sight for point coating.

The minds are whirling, the room gets hotter yet.
That Spade Queen has worried brows, seeping sweat.

The cards are flying, who will get the Spade Queen or miss?
I fear the taker was Bren, 13 points is the poison kiss.

Laughter erupts a time we will always hold dear.
The Spade Queen is waiting to bring fear.

Shan sweeps all the remaining points in her hand.
The Diamond Jack is an ally in the hostile land.

Poet sits laughing, she is winning.
The robot is so bad, he's spinning.

Better luck tomorrow you two,
Cause Poet is wearing her lucky shoe.
