In a chasm, I was entrapped no place could I
go.
It was dark and deafening, the walls felt so cold.
I tried to climb out, ice kept my fingers frigid with snow.
The echoes of my prison was just another scold.
Sitting on a rocky ledge, I could see no bottom
below to rest.
I saw a sliver of the sky, a sunray was trying to reach me.
Feeling alone on the slippery crest,
Barefooted my toes were cut by sharp stones and molten
debris.
When all seemed impossible, I saw a valley in the
mountain open wide.
It was a verdant land, no dismal did it share.
In the cold wall two lilies grew out of its side.
Love was revealed to me, a power filled the air.
From the lilies two angels grew, blossoms of
refresh.
Enlightening the cold chasm, sunlight cleared the way.
No longer was I entrapped in the hopeless mesh.
My night of ebony had turned into the ivory of day.
When all seemed impossible, I saw a valley in the
mountain open wide.
It was a verdant land, no dismal sight did it share.
In the cold wall two lilies grew out of its side.
Love was revealed to me, a power filled the air.
