There lived on a farm in a big red barn, three little kittens. Their names were Ziggy, Twiggy, and Zaggy. The old barn was filled with lots of hay. It was fed to the farm animals. The kittens loved to play in the barn.

Ziggy was a little orange kitten with a white spot on his nose. He was always getting in trouble. He also had a brown blotch on tail. This little kitten was so curious. He had to know all. he would find trouble wherever he went.

Twiggy was a black kitten with a white tail and and spot under chin. She liked to chase mice around the barn. She would sit hours at a mouse hole, waiting for one. She gave herself a bath while waited. She was a very clean kitten and once a day bathed.

Zaggy was a white calico kitten with brown paws. He loved to eat and sleep. He would spend all day, sleeping on a pile of hay. He only moved when the farmer came to feed the kittens and farm animals. He was so fat that his body wiggled when he walked.

One night the three kittens went to sleep in the farmers wagon. They awoke the next morning. The sun was shining a smile so bright in the sky. The boxes in the wagons were moving. The farmer was calling to his team of horses. The trees were flashing by and they were traveling on a long dirt road. The wind was blowing the tarp on the wagon..

Ziggy crawled out of the box he was sleeping in. He looked out at the wagon bed. Dust tickled his nose and made him sneeze. The farmer was singing and didn't hear the orange kitten He sat still and let the wind blow through his fur.

The peeping eyes of Zaggy appeared over the comfortable box, he was sleeping in. He had never ridden before and was very afraid. He laid back down and went to sleep. Fears always made him eat or sleep. The shaking boxes lulled him back to sleep.

Twiggy's box moved! It awoke her out of a sound sleep. She yawned and stretched hurt stiff legs. She looked around. She saw her brother. He was sitting on a pile of fruit boxes. She was not afraid of the moving wagon just curious. She rode with the farmer to feed the cows all the time. She leaped upon the wagon seat.

The farmer saw the little kitten, Twiggy, and petted her. He said "We are going to the market, today!" He looked around the wagon saw all his other kittens. He remarked, " You will have to stay with the wagon." "The city is a very dangerous place for little kittens from a farm. Mean dogs will chase you. Other cats won't like little kittens. I will put you in a crate with holes till we get back home."

He stopped the wagon and placed all three kittens in a crate with holes and some hay. The smell of the fruit made the kittens hungry. It was filled with peaches, apples, oranges, watermelons, cantaloupes and grapefruits too.

They could hear the sound of barking dogs and was glad when the farmer headed back for home. He opened their box and was happy he had sold all his wares.

Reaching the farm the kittens were glad to get back home to their safe barn and never would get in the wagon again. They were so tired fell right to sleep in their safe barn.
