Chapped lips are moistened by the soothing
canister of lip balm.
While a rowdy crowd suddenly becomes calm.
A mother hollers bad things to the umpire on the
false actions toward her son.
When he calls him out on home-plate as he made a run.
Small bats are measured and the ball is set on the
pole.
While a proud father comments on his son's baseball goal.
Impatiently a six-year old lad swings at the ball
which veers deep outfield.
While the next batter waits patiently in the cage of gild.
A young player stops to tie his shoelace on
first-base after a line hit.
While the coach watches the team on the bleacher where they
sit.
Bubblegum is removed from one of the outfielder's
mouth and thrown away.
As the coach readies his T-Ballers for their next play.
The umpire hollers, "Out," as the rolling ball was
caught at first base.
But young lad was taken out even though he gave a hearty
chase.
The first year of baseball will be remembered by
the young and old.
When a newer knowledge of the sport begins to unfold.
