WISH FOR PEACE

A figure sits austere with a rustic reed in hand.
His feathery headpiece trails to the fertile land.

The blazing campfire emits the scent of tobacco smoke in the air.
Eerie shadows dance off of sleek ebony hair.

Many aborigine chiefs form a circle around the warming blaze.
While the sun hides its sharp rays in the colorful haze.

Brightly dressed squaws are dancing with rattles on their feet.
A warrior's tom-tom drums a musical beat.

Passing is a handcarved peace-pipe among the leaders.
In the camp, searing logs confer the aroma of burnt cedars.

Grease paint adorn the breasts of the braves of war.
Weapons are placed down in peace on nature's floor.

Leather teepees hold the medicine men of many tribes.
A full moon sends out shining vibes.

Playing children enjoy the visitors from another land.
While the feathered friends talk serenity with out demand.
