THE OLD ROCKING CHAIR

Your rustic fingers massage my weary head, at rest.
In your abundant lap, my slumped body is pressed.

Curved legs rock me gently without fear of tumble.
Your bones creak louder then my stomach rumble.

On your wide arms my elbows find comfort.
As my sleepy snores emit to the air its own concert.

CURTAIN OF LACE

Love transcends over the sphere of the emotional trance.
It hangs precariously like a curtain valance.

Dust will cover the brilliance of its billowed layers of cloth.
Like cobwebs shield the glitter from adoration; replaced with wroth.

Without the proper care, the curtain will become dingy and without life.
A pure love must be able to withstand the strength of hardship and strife.

White material attracts the dust in its robes of purity.
While love's boundaries are always obscured by the pangs of insecurity.

Until both partners totally accept the new responsibilities, they must face.
Their love remains fragile like the helpless curtain of lace.

DARK STRANGER

The ebony panther treads with silent feet.
His gripping mouth carries herbs of bittersweet.

Sharp claws scratch a bleeding trail of destruction.
Using clever tactics woven in mental seduction.

Piercing eyes ignite a path of searing flame.
Without remorse deceit pounces on its chosen game.

The dark stranger reaps a heavy burden on his prey.
Like a thief in darkness, he quietly hastens away.
