Spots of leopard black over beige
Slept in branches way past noon
Awakens to delicate bellows of Bongo antelope
Hidden in tall grasses of the Savanna
A single tail motionless against the wind
Soft padded feet, whose lurching gait
increases
While hushed throaty growl announces her charge
One leap upon its small bleating meal
All too soon devours lean tender flesh
Lick long whiskers on her snout, she relaxes
Her tail pounds the earth in a moment of bliss
