Cut a piece of cloth
In four inch squares
To sew a quilt
Red, white and blue
Match the squares
Sew them straight
Watch those seams
Thread bobs up and down
As I push each square
Bent at waist,
All day to sew this quilt
My poor eyes cross
The end is near
I fill with glee
Oh look dear one,
I shout out
My quilt is done!
Held up high so he can see it all
Made with love
A piece of my soul is in this quaint quilt.
Ten rolls of eight plus four
Large piece of cloth now
Will warm the night
Of all who dream
In sweet sleep
